In order to cope with the various problems of towns and villages the course contents a wide spectrum of subjects. The first year includes basic knowledge in mathematics, informatics, sciences, engineering, law, history and economics. The second year is characterised by subjects such as town planning, regional planning, elements of architercture and civil engineering. In the the third year the students can select their subjects as a combination of three blocks: infrastructure, engineering methods and management of municipalities.

The course includes four semesters of integrated project work. The projects are of comprehensive nature and they are always connected with a real life problem. The students are working these problems in small teams. In the meantime they are getting acquanted with the challanges of their future profession, they are impoving their communication skills and experiencing the advantages and disadvantages of team-work. The studies are closed by a state examination, including the assessment of the diploma work.
