EvenSong was formed in the summer of 1997. The founders were:
Agnes Toth - female vocals, synth
Mihaly Szabo - vocals, guitars
Gabor Olah - lead guitars
Gabor Vegh - drums & percussion
Gergely Cseh - bass
Hajnalka Vincze - synths (ex-member)
In the autumn of 1997 the
band recorded a demo called Lost Tales. It had some good reviews in Hungary
and Lost Tales made a name for EvenSong in the Hungarian underground scene.
Although it was distributed only in Hungary it had been sent to some
foreign label and in the
May of '98 Displeased Records offered EvenSong a contract for three years.
Meanwhile Hajnalka quitted the band beacause of musical differences and
Agnes took her place on keyboards. After due consideration the band signed
to Displeased and in September they went to the hungarian Golden Sound
studio to record their debut album: Path Of The Angels. It came out in
the march of `99.
After a few concerts in the homecountry they started to write new songs for the second album. This time they choose a Holland studio (Studio Harrow) for the recording. They spent a month there and the outcome had been an excellent avantgarde-metal album with lots of symphonic elements. It is called Of Man's First Disobedience (Expulsion from the Divine Abode). This album is a concept one, a peculiar elaboration of some biblical themes such as Genesis, Expulsion of Adam and Eve, the Erection of Babylon...etc.
