- I don't want to say that the Hungarian scene is dead, but the only bands that were sucessful around the world were TORMENTOR & SEAR BLISS...so you are the 3rd band, which has the chance to be known around the world & I even think that you have the chance to be the most sucessful!!! What feelings does it evoke in you?

Yes it's true that the hungarian metal scene isn't very strong although there are some very good and unique bands here. You know there are very bad conditions for a metal group in Hungary. We are very happy that we had a chance to become known abroad.

- What do you think is the reason, that your scene is not very well known?

As I said before the main problem is with the hungarian attitude to metal music. There's only one bigger magazine (Metal Hammer H) specialized in this style. So I have to say that metal is quite dead here because of the weak conditions.

- You are a quite young band. From your bio I've found out that you were formed in 1997...Could you please tell me, if you've played in other bands before?

Some of us played in other bands before Even Song but they were only garage bands if you know what I mean. So Even Song is our first "serious" group.

- I'd like to know if you also have some demo...I don't know anything about it, but I suppose that DISPLEASED have offered you a contract on the base of your promomaterial...

Yes we had a demo called 'Lost Tales' before our debut album 'Path Of The Angels'. It contains 6 songs in the same style as 'P.O.T.A.'. We recorded it in the September of '97. The band was existed only for 2 months then. In spite of that it turned out quiet good and it made the name of Even Song known in the hungarian metal scene.

- I started to like your album from its beginning, because with its atmosphere, it reminds me on the legendary album "SOLAR LOVES" from the fantastic band CELESTIAL SEASON... Do you know this band & has it influenced you somehow?

Yes maybe it influenced us as we like them very much. Solar Lovers is one of the greatest album ever.

- If it's not a secret, tell me which labels have you contacted to get an contract, which of them replied to you, did you get more offers & how did you react on the contract from DISPLEASED?

We only contacted a few labels ( Napalm Records, DSFA, Mascot Records...etc). Some of them replied us but Displeased Records' offer was the most auspicious one.

- Contracts are mainly signed for 2 albums...Is it so also by you?

Our contract is for 3 years and for 3 albums  (maybe some Eps).

- DISPLEASED have released many great things so far & I think that they can promote you very well, what is of course the merit of your songs... How do you get on with your firm & how satisfied are you with the promotion?

We are very satisfied with them. They are a correct and reliable label. They do us a very good worldwide promotion. We are in direct touch with them via e-mail.

- I'd like to know, how many people have asked you for an interview so far & how does this interest influence you...

We've already gave a lot of interview to magazines from all over the world - for example yesterday we got an interview from a columbian magazine-and recieved some letters from fans too. It's great to know that so much people interested in us.

- Has your position in Hungary changed after you signed the contract for DISPLEASED?

Not really. We are still an underground band.

- I think we could hit it off, that you are a Doom metal band... What feelings does this style evoke in you... It's so grim & melancholic... In many cases it's more sad. Couldn't it evoke bad feelings in fans?

Our aim is not to evoke bad feelings in fans. We only try to express our emotions through music and lyrics. Maybe it's sad and grim but that's how we feel. You know it is a world full of pain and sadness, the dreams are fading, the beauty is lost. "We dreamt of the Elysian Field where beauty and joy blooms like never-withering flowers... then we awake".

What does influence you, when you are writing songs? I don't mean musical influence...

Our main influence is the life itself.

- Your firm is doing promotion for 2 bands at once. With you it is also the dutch band HOUWITSER, who are playing Brutal Death... Do you like their album? What do you think about this kind of promotion together with a Death metal band?

Yes we like this kind of metal style too. Houwitser's album is one of the most brutal I've ever heard. We've found this kind of promotion very interesting. This "co-operation" has a title too: The Beauty and the Beast-I think it's a very impressive one.

- OK, thanx for your time & co-operation, I believe we'll be in contact again, when you'll release your next album, which I'm, by the way, really looking forward to...At the end, tell me how do you feel the entry to high european structures...

We are very happy to have the chance to become known in the european metal scene. We'll do our best ...
