- Which kind of promotional-activity did you do before the release of your debut album?
The band was formed in the summer of '97. We've made only one demo 'Lost Tales' before our debut album 'Path of the angels'. This demo tape was distributed only in Hungary in limited numbers.
- In which ways did you decide to sign for Displeased Records?
The demo had been sent to a lot of labels and we had some good reviews. Displeased Records offered us a contract for three years. After due consideration we decided to sign to Displeased as they are a correct and reliable label.
- Would you like to talk about the production work for Path of the Angels CD?
The album was recorded in a Hungarian studio (Golden Sound Studio). We spent three weeks with the recording.
- Speaking in general, are you satisfied with the final result achieved?
Although there are very bad studio conditions here in Hungary we are quiet satisfied with the final results.
- It seems that your main influences are Paradise Lost and Tiamat do you agree?
Although we like Tiamat and the early works of Paradise Lost I don't think that they are our main influences. We are influenced by a lot of musical styles from death metal to classical music.
- Would you explain us the concept of your debut album?
The lyrics are about the loss of beauty, about dreams and desires. The album-title 'Path of the angels' symbolizes a way to a land of dreams where the soul could escape from the body and from the abominable realm of reality.
- How does track raise in your mind and when you are practicing?
The base musical themes are written by Agnes, Gabor O. and me. But everyone have a say in matter. So if someone doesn't like a theme, we drop it. We are practicing five times a week.
- What's about the feedback of press concerning 'Path of the angels' CD?
We've already had some good reviews from magazines.
- What do you expect from the release of 'Path of the angels' CD?
We'd like Even Song to become a better-known band in the European metal scene. Displeased gave us a big chance. As far as I know there's only one Hungarian metal band (Sear Bliss) besides us signed to a foreign label. We know that we are not the first band working with the concept of death grunts with female voice but we hope that the people will like our music.
- The last famous words...?
Hi from Hungary to all the
Italian metal fans and thanks for the interview.
