The Challenge of Labour Market at the Beginning of the Global Information Society

Paper in Journal Marketing and Manangement - 1998.

Abstract

The information at the end of the 20th Century has become more and more the main resource and the motivating power of the society and the business life. In this situation the firms are not able to reach a dynamic development and to execute the continuous economical activity only if they take into consideration the national and the international business conditions and the trends of evolution.

But before using the information must be prepared, the mathematical and statistical methods need to be applied in the management work and in decision making. This society needs experts: economists, engineers, specialists in computer sciences who are prepared for the computer aided decision making and the controlling work. In the year 1997 I made a survey among the managers of different firms and our graduated students in order to learn what kind of knowledge is to be expected in business environment at the end of the 20th century. The main conclusion is, that the task of the education is to train foreign languages spoken students with interdisciplinary knowledge of economics, computer sciences and information technology. In my study I`ll. speak about the results of this statistical analysis, and I`ll. show some statistical tables and graphs to represent the requirements of the society and the tasks and responsibility in the higher education system.
