Maria Raffai Ph.D. is a professor at the Chair for Information Science of the Szechenyi Istvan University (Hungary, Győr). She is an expert in information engineering methodology, in the business process re-engineering improvement methods so far as in the field of operation research and decision making. She has MSc. in economic sciences with specialization of applied mathematics, and also in computer science. She has developed a wide used BPR methodology adapted for the Central and Eastern European business cultures. For this research she has got the Ph.D. degree.
Before joining the University
As a university professor Maria Raffai has been dealing with software engineering methodologies, she is the author of the best selling books in this theme: Information Management (1995), Information Engineering - The Challenge of the Information Society (1996), The History of Computing (1997), Information Engineering (1999), OO application development: both from academic, methodology (e.g. RUP) and technical (e.g. UML) point of view (Series of Object Technology, 2000-2006), Information System Engineering and Management (2003), Desicion Making, Decision Support Systems (1996; 1999; 2001), Managing Software Development Projects (2002), The Information (2007).
She often takes part on nationwide and international conferences, where she presents their newest scientific results. The most important themes are the following:
